2010 Plan of Work Summary
The State Coordinator will meet with new ANR Extension agents, so outreach and promotion of SARE grant programs, have farmer/rancher grant writing workshops and have the Wisconsin SARE display at conferences and events. Wisconsin will have 4 initiatives in 2010: (1) Scaling Up Local Good Food Systems regional training, (2) Cover Crops, (3) Extending Sustainable Ag Knowledge and Practice, and (4) Energy and Sustainable Agriculture. Wisconsin is coordinating and hosting the Scaling Up Local Food regional training in September 2010. They are requesting $48,000 over the state coordinator budget to pay for expenses related to the training. All the other state programs are requesting $4,000 less so NCR PDP is able to budget for the training. Wisconsin will have webinars, and workshops related to their initiatives. They will also make funds available for 3 or more $1,000 mini-grants ($3,000) and $10,400 for travel scholarships.
